Public:
MSc & PhD students doing a thesis in Bordeaux Neurocampus laboratories
Post-docs and Recent Bordeaux Neurocampus graduates


Capacity: 20 pax

Eligibility requirements: Selection upon filling the application form and uploading all the required files (CV and 3 min video pitch about themselves and their motivation for this program). PhD students are also required to register on the ADUM platform

Aims:
This Sponsorship program enables a pair of volunteers, with no hierarchical link, to become part of a mutual enrichment process and to share their knowledge, experience, network, support, and encouragement.
To create a moment of exchange of ideas, information and debate around thematic like career progression, networking, communication
Facilitating the transition of graduate students from academia to industry
It will help you to value both your scientific and transversal skills while being prepared for the next level role by a senior and influential leader of the industry
Increase the visibility of the Bordeaux Neurocampus within the corporate world
Combine the collaboration between academia and industry, smoothing the access to the job market and hidden positions
Increase international network

Programme:

Collective training workshops
What are the career paths in neuroscience, outside academia, explained directly by recruiters
Individual assessment of skills, revision of CV and LinkedIn by a consultant:  to value your scientific and transversal skills in a language appropriate for human resources
Mock interviews
Regular individual exchanges with a sponsor offering listening and advice (1h/month)
Testimonials from scientists and professionals in private companie

Programme & Timetable:

06/05 @ 9h30 Opening event (1h online): Presentation of the program and team, aims and details about the program

DATE to be defined (May):
Briefing job opportunities for MSc and PhD in Neuroscience with Sinead Collum (MSc in Neuroscience): Director of Life Science recruitment Ireland
Briefing job opportunities within the French environment APEC

Phase 1 May:
You will do an online strength assessment (before the workshops) , it will take you 30 min, so the results can be transfered to your CV and cover letter, when applying for a job in the future
Our organization team will do an individual analysis of the CV you uploaded and linkedin profile
        You will prepare 400 words about the Industry/Company/Position/Country in order to optimize your  
              matching with Sponsors according to what suits you better

 Phase 2: Workshops series

After the workshop the pedagogical team will review individually the strengths of each candidate and will
        give suggestions  of wording to be included into you CV and LinkedIn profile

Phase 3: Kick-off event Mingle & meet the sponsors 24 th of June

Open day: Selected industries will present themselves to the audience, present areas of  expertise and job opportunities (morning); Sponsor will share how they can help you to move into the desired positions
  Speed dating mentee vs. sponsor (afternoon) so you can all meet individually (online or in person) to

Phase 4: Sponsorship*
Regular individual exchanges with a mentor offering listening and advice (1h/month, zoom)
For example:
Discussion of job opportunities,
conducting mock-interviews,
connecting with other Leaders to increase visibility & network
