Reuse Planet (and our original location, Repurpose Project) is a non-profit community based effort that works to divert useful resources from the landfill, redirect these items to the public for art and education, inspire creativity, and help us all rethink what we throw away. In short, we are a junk shop that specializes in material not accepted by traditional thrift stores.

We are growing and searching for new members of our team at our second location, Reuse Planet!

We are currently looking to fill a position on our Store Team with the following expectations:

Customer Service:  
- The Store Position at Reuse Planet is the face of our organization. You will be the first person customers see and interact with.
-Talk to the customers, brainstorm with them, be the friendly engaging face that brings people back to the Repurpose Project.
-Sell a wide variety of items to a wide variety of humans
-Check customers out on the register
-Help customers load their purchases into their vehicles.

Marketing:
-Market our store and our inventory on Facebook and Instagram
-Post our merchandise on Facebook Marketplace and Craigslist
-Reply to customer questions via all marketing platforms

Merchandising:
-Clean the dirty stuff so that we can sell it
-Make and maintain attractive display rooms with an unpredictable supply of items
-Work collaboratively with the warehouse and intake teams to keep the sales floor full and stocked
-Price and stage small items.

This is an entry level job, we will provide all required training.  There are few people on earth who can come in with all of the skills we need.  You are extra encouraged to apply if you have skills or interest in any of these areas: Interior decorating, social media marketing, DIY anything, antiques, What is this mystery trash?, community engagement, or hyping up stangers Pinterest dreams.

We ask that you are available for at least 25 hr/wk with a 1yr commitment; we want someone who’s interested in building this organization with us over the long term, and who will be a good investment in terms of training time.

- Has the ability and willingness to withstand heat, cold, rude customers, chaos, and gross stuff
- Have weekend, weekday, and holiday availability
- Want to work well with our wonderful group of dedicated trash lovers
