The term climate education (literacy), for the purpose of this special issue, is
deemed to englobe any activity, object, institution, movement, person, group,
publication or idea that that intends in some way to enlighten, educate, influence or inform
people and organisations about climate change and the perils that such change inflicts
upon the natural, geographical, social, economic, ethical, ecological, psychological,
governance, political and policy world of which humans are a part on planet Earth. This applies mutatis mutandis to ocean education (literacy).
