Abstract about the talk:

Large-scale and complex underground constructions are often encountered by the HK’s professions. These works may include the construction of structures such as MTR stations, deep basements, and even some other underground facilities. The complexity of the project is significantly increased by the scale of works, that is, the size and depth of these structures.

There are quite a number of practical considerations in the successful completion of such works, in particular when the planning and logistic support behind is concerned. More importantly, proper solutions for these practical concerns are decisive factors for the success of these projects in terms of safety, quality, time, and cost.

In this seminar, the technicalities and practical considerations when carrying out these kinds of projects will be discussed with the support of a number of real project cases by the speaker.
