Title: Inclusive Practices for Names and Pronouns in Academic Contexts
Audience:
Academic advisors, professional staff, student affairs staff, and administrative support staff at the University of Minnesota system campuses.
Description:
This session is intended for academic professionals, including academic advisors, student support services, and administrative support professionals. In this session, participants will receive an overview of gender identity, gender expression, and their significance for higher education contexts. The presenter(s) will share introductory strategies and resources for integrating preferred names and gender pronouns into daily practice. Context and historical significance for the Gender Equity and Access Policy will also be provided.
Note:
This session is an introductory level for academic professionals who are new or newer to use of preferred/specified name and gender pronouns.
