Title: Inclusive Practices for Names and Pronouns in the Classroom
Audience:
Faculty, instructors, and instructional staff at the University of Minnesota system campuses. We welcome graduate and professional students in instructional roles.
Session description:
This session is intended for University of Minnesota faculty, instructors, and instructional support staff. From syllabus creation, to introductions and discussions, names and pronouns are prevalent in academic settings. The presenter(s) will share introductory strategies and resources for integrating gender pronouns and preferred names into daily practice within classroom and learning environments. Context and historical significance for the Gender Equity and Access Policy will also be provided.
Note:
This session is an introductory level for faculty and instructors who are new or newer to use of preferred/specified name and gender pronouns.
