The Grand County Wildfire Council (GCWC) is offering private landowners and collective groups of private landowners impacted by the 2020 Grand County Wildfires (East Troublesome & Williams Fork Fires) the opportunity to apply for cost-share funding to remove hazard trees that remain post-fire.
NEW!!! We are no longer pre-approving projects before work is complete. Instead, we will consider applications and projects once WORK HAS BEEN COMPLETED.* This means that you no longer need to wait on us to begin your project. The only catch is that we are still requiring “pre-mitigation” photos, so, if you intend to submit an application for reimbursement, BE SURE TO TAKE PHOTOS BEFORE WORK BEGINS.
*If you have not completed your project and wish to further inquire about the program (including a potential reimbursement amount), email
bewildfireready@gmail.com or call 970-627-7121.
Applications will be accepted on an on-going basis, until available funding has been expended.
ELIGIBLE PROJECTS
(1) HOAs & HOMEOWNER GROUPS IMPACTED BY THE 2020 GC WILDFIRES: Homeowner Associations and/or Groups of Homeowners not part of a formal HOA that wish to organize drive-by community-wide chipping days. In this situation, the HOA or Homeowner Group would contract with a chipper for on-site chipping. Grand County Wildfire Council would reimburse up to 50% of the chipping cost. Actual amount to be reimbursed determined at the time after project is completed.
(2) INDIVIDUAL ASSISTANCE FOR 2020 GC WILDFIRE VICTIMS: Cost-share reimbursement opportunity (up to 50% of the cost or $1050/acre treated) for individual landowners performing post-fire hazard tree removal. Actual amount to be reimbursed determined at the time after project is completed.
