We're gathering Democratic voters and elected officials from across the state for a parade march and after party at the Vermont Maple Festival — one of Franklin County's largest community events. The festival is held in St. Albans City. Join us!
Where do I go? 📍
- At 10:00 AM, our shuttle will run from the parade end point (empty lot near 11 Lower Newton Rd) to the parade start point (7 Lemnah Dr).
❗Park at the end point on Lower Newton St. Take the shuttle to avoid walking back.
❗Running late? Drop marchers at Nason & Lemnah before parking nearby.
- By 11:15 AM we must be assembled at 7 Lemnah Dr.
- At 12:00 PM, the parade begins. The route is 1.2 miles one-way.
- By 12:45 PM we will have ended the parade at 11 Lower Newton Rd. Leave any unwanted parade materials with the attendant. Depart on foot or in your vehicle.
- At 1:00 PM the After Party begins at 14th Star Brewing Co. (133 North Main St, Ste #7).
- At 2:00 PM the After Party ends. Folks are welcome to stay later!
What's the theme? 🌔
This year's prompt is "A Total Eclipse of Vermont Maple." Aviator sunglasses and signs with eclipse / maple leaf designs will be distributed to marchers, while maple candies will be shared with the crowd. Our announcement focuses on our vision of a brighter future for everyone in Franklin County, no matter what we look like, where we're from, who we love, or what we have or don't have. Our theme song is "In This Together" by country music singer Darius Rucker.
What should I wear — or bring? 🧢🧡
Wear BLUE and ORANGE! Country-casual workwear, hats and caps, and comfy walking shoes are great. If it's comfortable and weather appropriate, you should be all set.
Campaign signs are encouraged, though we do ask that candidates and officials bring volunteers to hold them when at all possible. Signs or banners with messages that echo our
Party platform and align with Democratic values are welcome.
Can I bring a friend? 🙌
Absolutely! Feel free to invite friends to the parade, the after party, or both! Here's how:
