無人機在臺灣的應用領域相當多元,市場日漸普及、產值增長快速、服務 逐漸成熟。未來無人機除了性能提升,酬載能力與續航力增加,應用日趨廣泛之外, 也將與諸多新興科技進行更緊密的整合,其中包括人工智慧、物聯網、感測技術、 大數據應用、精準農業(Precision Agriculture)、行動裝置與邊緣運算(Edge Computing)及物流系統等服務。
The application fields of UAV in Taiwan are quite diverse. The market is becoming more and more popular, the output value is growing rapidly, and the services are gradually maturing. In addition to improved performance, increased payload capacity and endurance, and more and more applications in the future, UAVs will also be more closely integrated with many emerging technologies, including artificial intelligence, the Internet of Things, sensing technology, big data applications, and precision agriculture. (Precision Agriculture), mobile devices and edge computing (Edge Computing) and logistics systems and other services.

近年來政府積極推動再生能源的布建,以達成2025年再生能源發電量佔20%之目標,其中以太陽光電裝置容量占66.3%最高,累積設置目標20 GW(地面17 GW及屋頂3 GW,1GW為10億瓦),相關的設備維運將耗費大量人力及費用。隨著時代演變,無人機的應用領域與日俱增。除了娛樂、新聞報導、緊急救災等傳統用途,現在更經常應用於重要基礎設備的維護管理,以取代效率低、成本高,還具有一定安全風險的人工巡檢。
In recent years, the government has actively promoted the deployment of renewable energy in order to achieve the goal of 20% of renewable energy power generation in 2025, of which solar photovoltaic device capacity accounted for the highest 66.3%, with a cumulative target of 20 GW (17 GW on the ground and 3 GW on the roof, 1GW is 1 billion watts), related equipment maintenance and operation will consume a lot of manpower and cost. With the evolution of the times, the application fields of drones are increasing day by day. In addition to traditional uses such as entertainment, news reporting, and emergency disaster relief, it is now more often used in the maintenance and management of important infrastructure equipment to replace manual inspections that are inefficient, expensive, and pose certain safety risks.

另外傳統風力發電機保修檢測作業皆由人工完成,辛苦爬上數十公尺高的發電機組後,忍受強風在危險環境下作業。近幾年來由於無人機技術成熟,國內外電力公司將這項技術運用在日常作業中,大幅提高作業安全性。
In addition, traditional wind turbine maintenance and inspection operations are all done manually. After climbing the generator set tens of meters high, they endure strong winds and work in a dangerous environment. In recent years, due to the maturity of UAV technology, domestic and foreign power companies have applied this technology in daily operations, greatly improving the safety of operations.

本活動目標將建立具有國際競爭力之本土團隊, 結合國內外業界硬體零組件供應鏈,進行關鍵技術研發與系統整合應用,同時培育相關人才從事無人飛行載 具之研究,以凸顯研究成果對於台灣/全球的實質影響力。
The goal of this event is to establish a local team with international competitiveness, combine domestic and foreign industry hardware component supply chains, conduct key technology research and development and system integration applications, and at the same time cultivate relevant talents to engage in research on unmanned aerial vehicles to highlight research substantial impact of the results on Taiwan/global.
