https://www.hcc.edu/tuition-and-aid/financial-aid4. Can these programs be completed fully online?
-Depending on the electives you select, the Human Services Certificate can be completed fully online.
-The Mental Health Studies Certificate can be completed fully online, however not every course is offered online every semester so it is important to work closely with your advisor to plan your course of study.
-The A.S. in Human Services requires several courses that are not currently offered online.
5. How long will the program take?
-This depends on your own pacing. A student enrolled full time (4 classes per semester) will typically complete a certificate in 1 academic year and the A.S. degree in 2 academic years. Students enrolling less than full time will take longer---exact length will depend on number of courses taken each semester.
6. I haven't been to school in a million years. Are these programs for me?
-We hope so, and we think so! Our programs include learners as young as 16 and as old as ???. There is no age limit for learning! Many of the students in our programs are working adults and/ or learners returning for a second (or third, or fourth, or fifth!) career later in life. HCC offers a lot of supports and resources to assist in the classroom learning process and overall student experience, including easily accessible tutoring, writing support, mental health support, support for learners with disabilities, childcare during classes, assistance with emergency food and housing, clubs, activities, etc. You will not be alone in this process, and you will not be the only one coming back to school after a hiatus.
