Master Installation Electrician Unit Standards Weekend Training April/May 2024 (online classes)
The ECA (SA), JHB – Highveld Region will be offering a online 5-day MIE Unit standards course for,

Students who have written the Specialized Electrical Codes paper 1 and paper 2.
Master Installation Electricians who want to further their knowledge and gain the knowledge required for certification. (enquire further as refreshment training would be privy to a discount as they would not have to complete the assessment
Installation Electricians who want to prepare for the exams and complete their unit standards.

Zoom is free to download: https://zoom.us/download and is relatively easy to setup, however, you will be given clear guidelines on how to do this.
To attend the Zoom course, you will need to register and sign in and then use the link provided by the ECA to attend the course.

Course requirements and subjects to be covered in the course:
Installation Electrician with relevant Experience or, working in the medical industry, hazardous liquids, gas and dust environments or any of the relevant industries as per 7.14 of SANS 10142-1, which may be relevant.
Installation Electrician with Specialized Electrical Installation Codes Paper 1 and Paper 2.

US 13684 - Issue certificate of compliance for an electrical installation in a hazardous area.
US 13821 - Test and inspect and electrical installation in a hazardous area.
Documentation will be provided for the Portfolios of Evidence
*Students must please ensure that they have a copy of the regulations (the ECA does not provide the SANS codes).

Cost: The cost of the course has been reduced to R8 500.00 for members and R9 500.00 for non-members.

Course material: Course material is included in the price and will be emailed to all students.
Class hours: The class will start at 9 am and finish at 4 pm with a one-hour break for lunch.

Session 4 - 27 April 
Session 5 - 4 May

Booking date: Payment should reach your regional representative by no later than 5 April 2024
Early booking is advised.

Students may arrange an assessment day with the assessor after completing the POE, the cost of which is included in the prices of the course where the student is assessed practically to determine competency in the field. The practical is explained to the student on day five of the training.
