Survey from PacYM Indigenous Concerns Subcommittee to Meetings, Committees, and Orgs
DEADLINE:
The deadline for the survey was extended through the end of July. (It was originally June 20th to give us initial responses in order to plan our interest group for Annual Session.) Estimated time to complete: 15-20 minutes.)

For more info about the purpose of the survey and about the subcommittee, please see our web page:
https://www.pacificyearlymeeting.org/committee-newsletters-and-reports/indigenous-concerns/

WHO SHOULD FILL OUT THE SURVEY:
Please note that the survey is specifically formatted for responses from Meetings/Worship Groups, PacYM Committees, Quarterly Meetings, and related Quaker organizations.

Individual Friends may fill it out or email us directly.

We look forward to hearing from you!

PURPOSES:
The subcommittee's intention is to compile a summary of actions that local meetings are taking and share it via our page on the PacificYearlyMeeting.org site. This will be in order to promote sharing, networking, learning, and action. We will update the page from time to time as we all learn and grow in these efforts and as meetings, committees, and organizations have new information to share. We are also using the submissions to help inform our interest group and activities at the PacYM Annual Session and beyond.

No individual person's name or contact info will be shared on the website without prior consent.

Please keep in touch to tell us what you're already doing and where you’d like support. We can play a connecting role to put meetings/committees/orgs in touch with each other as needs and interest arise. The subcommittee has no expectation that any meeting or organization is trying to take on many of the actions listed in the survey all at once. Continuing revelation can come slowly or in leaps and jumps: we’re all learning and growing into awareness and actions together.

Thank you!

The new PacYM Indigenous Concerns Subcommittee:
Lisa Hubbell & Alyssa Nelson, Co-Convenors
Sophie Wood Brinker
Jim Summers and Gail Eastwood, Liaisons from PacYM Ministry Committee

Note on the term "Indigenous" in the context of this survey
For the purposes of this survey, the term "Indigenous" primarily refers to:
- the original peoples of the lands on which our local meetings/committees/organizations gather,
- all members of Indigenous diasporas living in the area PacYM comprises: from Mexico City to Arcata/Humboldt and from Kapa'a to Reno, and
- Indigenous Friends.
If you use another definition that affects how you respond to the questions, please tell us what it is.
