WHAT IS THE ASVAB? The Armed Services Vocational Aptitude Battery (ASVAB) is a multi-aptitude test battery that is designed to measure your skills at this time in your life. It consists of eight short individual tests covering verbal and math skills, mechanical knowledge, electronics and several other areas. It is the most widely used aptitude test in American schools today. It is offered at no cost.

HOW CAN THE ASVAB BE USED TO EXPLORE CAREERS? You can use your ASVAB results with “Exploring Careers: The ASVAB Career Exploration Guide.” Every student who takes the ASVAB receives a copy of the Exploration Guide. It has a series of activities that will enable you to match your interests, abilities and personal preferences to over 400 occupations.

WHAT IS THE RELATIONSHIP BETWEEN THE ASVAB AND THE MILITARY? Legion Collegiate Academy does not release ASVAB results to the military. If you wish to release your scores you must do so on your own. *If you are planning on enlisting in the military it is necessary that you take the ASVAB.

WHEN IS THE ASVAB BEING OFFERED? The ASVAB will be administered to Juniors and Seniors on Friday, November 5th beginning at 8:00 am. The test takes approximately 3 hours.  Students will be counted as present in their classes for that day.

HOW DO I SIGN UP? If you are interested in taking the ASVAB, please click on the following link: https://forms.gle/GmcdZSsfg7ktR76M7. Those students who are under 18 must get their parent’s permission to take the ASVAB. Please note: Students are responsible for any class work missed during the ASVAB. They will need to check with their teachers, before November 5th, so that they can request work in advance and can set up a time to drop off any assignments that may be due to their teachers.

The deadline to submit the ASVAB sign up form is  November 4, 2021.
