Troop 682 - June 17-19 2022- Horsemanship Merit Badge Campout
NOTE: We are sending this registration form well in advance of this campout because we have to finalize the number of attendees by MAY 6th and pay the full amount to the organizers.

Unfortunately, there will be no refunds for any cancellations after APRIL 30th. Exception, If more than 30 participants register and you are unable to attend, a refund can be arranged.

LIMIT: 28 Scouts and 2 Adult participants. Registrations are first-come, first-serve.

Payment is due by APRIL 30th.

PAYMENT INSTRUCTIONS:
Check payable to Boy Scout Troop 682, you can hand over the check to Bob at the troop meetings on April 18th or April 26th.

It's also fine to have a parent mail a check payable to Boy Scout Troop 682 to Bob's  home address (15059 Stillfield Place, Centreville, VA  20120)

DETAILS:
Dates: June  17-19, 2022

Departure: Friday 17th, 5:00 PM at Pleasant Valley UMC

Return: Sunday 19th, 12:00 PM at Pleasant Valley UMC

Campsite: Lake Arrowhead 265 Lake Rd, Luray, VA 22835  (approx. 1 hour 40 Min from PVUMC)

MB Program Location:  Jordan Hollow Stables, 667 Pine Grove Rd, Stanley, Virginia 22851

Cost: $110 (this includes 2 nights camping, Horse riding, Horsemanship MB, and meals)

Cost for nonriding Adults: $30 ( Food and 2 nights camping)

Cost for the day trip scouts: $80 ( Just for the Horsemanship Merit Badge only. Food is on you)

Attire: Scout Class 'A' uniform for travel

Program
We will be heading out to Jordan Hollow Stables to learn horseback riding and to earn the Horsemanship Merit Badge. It's going to be a fun campout! We will spend the whole day learning all about horse and how to ride them, including how to be a good horseman, understanding the horse and how to become a good rider.  In addition, Scouts will have the opportunity to complete the Horsemanship Merit Badge workbook. If you follow the instructions and complete the given tasks, at the end of the day everyone should earn the Horsemanship Merit Badge without any additional work.
Restrictions
We have a limit of 28 Scouts and 2 Adult  participants. Registrations are first come, first serve.

All the adult participants MUST have up-to-date YPT

In addition, a Jordan Hollow Stables Release and Waiver of Liability Form will need to be completed for each participant.
Meals
Eat dinner before you arrive or bring something with you on Friday.  Scouts will be cooking Saturday breakfast, lunch & dinner and Sunday breakfast by patrols.

Standard weekend camping equipment.
