WVFFI Mini-Grant Application
The West Virginia Forest Farming Initiative (WVFFI), through a grant from the Claude Worthington Benedum Foundation, has funds available to offer mini-grants to forest farmers. These mini grants of up to $400.00 are available to applicants to help offset the cost of application to the Forest Grown Verification program, purchase planting stock, site security, planting and harvest tools, soil amendments, shade house supplies, and other items upon approval. Minimum Requirements
*Applicants must be West Virginia landowners or long term lease holders (minimum 5 years, some species may require longer lease commitment) with suitable habitat.

*The grant award will be contingent upon a site visit by WVFFI or documentation confirming suitable habitat for forest farming.

Guidelines and Reporting
*  Awarded funds must be used only for purchases described in the grant request.
*  Prior approval is required for substitutions.
*  Grant report is due within 60 days of the receipt of funds and should include a summary of the completed project, photos, and receipts.
*  Grant expenditures should be equal to or greater to the grant award.  
*  Any unspent funds should be returned to WVFFI within the 60 day reporting period.
