HOME @ HOME : A 6-Week Media Creation Series
Beginning Monday April 20th 9:00m EST
During this COVID-19 pandemic we need the critical thinking and digital citizenship skills to navigate and evaluate news sites, social media, our online presence, and even our online connections with others. 

This is why I am bringing my Digital Literacy expertise, education & workshops to you.

You and your kids will be able to verify online information, identify commercial intentions in content, and create media content of your own in safe, responsible and powerful ways. 

Dates: Monday April 20th, 27th, May 4th, 11th, 18th & 25th 2020
Course is suitable for ages 9+
Format: Link to 15-20 minute video will be sent out @ 9am each morning of the course, making our education entirely flexible to your schedule.

6-Week Outline

Week 1: Real or Fake News?
Media Creation Activity: Online News Article creation using text, photography and your own imagination.   

Week 2: Photo & Image Manipulation. 
Media Creation Activity: Using filters, edits and other fun tools to learn how easy it is to alter or modify images online. Selfie photography will be introduced.

Weeks 3 & 4: How Are Movies Made? How & why do videos go viral?
Media Creation Activity: We will go through the complete video production process to create our own Stop Motion Animation using objects we have at home.

Weeks 5 & 6: Permissions and Consent when making video projects using photography.
Media Creation Activity: We will be making our first Digital Story about ourselves using photography, music, voice and text. You will learn how to use video editing software to create a powerful video that you can share online.
