Applicants accepted into our volunteer Coach-in-Training Program are on deck during the 8 & under, 6 & under and potentially the 9/10 year old practice to share their swimming talents with other team members. CITs work under the supervision of the Normandy Head Swim Coach and Assistant Coaches who will give specific instruction on teaching and coaching the younger swimmers. CITs will need to participate in a training session in May.
The requirements for application include:
□ Age 12 by June 1, 2021
□ Active member of swim team
□ Love water and swimming
□ Able to assist with younger swimmers a minimum of 2 times per week
□ You have a goal to improve your personal swimming skills
□ The desire to “make a difference” by teaching others
CITs are volunteers, in other words, they are unpaid. This program's goal is to start training potential coaches early as well as giving our current coaches some extra hands on help with our younger and less experienced swimmers. We feel it builds a great swim community and helps the older kids stay engaged with the younger kids. The CIT's end up being amazing role models for our younger swimmers-and honestly the younger kids love the attention. We do offer the option to collect service hours over the summer. The CIT's will be able to sign in and out when they work and at the end of the year will have a signed paper with their total hours.
Complete this application no later than May 9th, 2021. Questions? Contact Christina Kissick by email at
