Winter Park Resident Survey
ATTENTION WINTER PARK RESIDENTS:

The Winter Park City Commission is considering changes to the city's code impacting the use of leaf blowers due to residents' concerns regarding noise, health and environmental impacts of the blowers. As a result of the pandemic, many of our residents are now working from home or having children home schooled where the noise levels of the leaf blowers have become a disturbance.

Residents have also expressed increased concern for particulate pollution, pollen, fossil fuel use, current operating hours, and landscaping company employees health. Recent technological advances in the performance and longevity of batteries in electric leaf blowers have improved their viability for both residential and commercial landscaping.

Section 62-97 of the City of Winter Park Code of Ordinances currently allows the operation of landscaping or yard maintenance power tools or motorized equipment Monday through Saturday 7 a.m. to 9 p.m. and on Sunday 9 a.m. to 9 p.m.

The city is asking for your participation in this survey to gauge your perspective and/or concerns on the impacts of such changes. If you are a Winter Park resident living in city limits, your input is requested. Please fill out the survey below as survey results will be used to formulate recommendations made to the City Commission for consideration. Please note, the results of this survey are public record.

Questions or comments can be sent to sustainability@cityofwinterpark.org.

SURVEY CLOSES WEDNESDAY OCT. 6 AT 11:59 p.m. ONE RESPONSE PER HOUSEHOLD.
