DCGFFL 2021 Travel Registration for Pride Bowl
Every year, we send our DC flag football athletes to two major flag football tournaments, Pride Bowl and Gay Bowl, to represent DC against other national teams.  To provide maximum flexibility in the unique circumstances of reopening, the DCGFFL Board and Travel Program leaders have agreed to suspend the standard protocols and to select new teams separately for each tournament (Pride Bowl and Gay Bowl).  The 2021 travel season will be treated as a "gap year" and we will move back to a 5-team format in 2022.  

Registration is now open to play on a DC Travel Team in the Open Division of Pride Bowl 2021: June 25th and 26th, 2021. The tournament will take place at the Chicago lakefront; registration opened on April 1. Gay Bowl 2021: TENTATIVELY scheduled for October 7–10, 2021 in Toronto, Ontario.  REGISTRATION TO PLAY ON A DC TRAVEL TEAM FOR GAY BOWL WILL BE SEPARATE THIS YEAR, AT A LATER DATE, AND TEAMS WILL BE NEWLY SELECTED.  For up to date information check here: https://ngffl.org/gaybowl 

We encourage players to register on this form ASAP assuming that Pride Bowl is able to move forward.  This will enable us to determine how many viable teams DC can send.

TRAVEL TEAM SELECTION PROCESS
This registration form signs you up for the possibility of being selected to play on an LGBTQ+ flag football team representing DC at Pride Bowl in Chicago (June 25-26).  There is no guarantee that by filling out this form you will be selected for a team - roster spots are capped for each team, and captains have sole discretion on who they pick.  However, all eligible players are invited to apply, and if not picked as part of the initial draft, will be placed in an undrafted pool and may be selected by a captain as needed to fill any roster vacancies (e.g. due to injury).

ELIGIBILITY CRITERIA
If you played in the DCGFFL, are a new player recently moved to the DC area, are a former DC travel player who has moved from the area and still wants to play on a DC team (restrictions may apply), we strongly encourage you to register.

WOMEN PLAYERS
Normally, DC's elite Women's Division team, the Senators, has first pick of all women players.  However, it is not anticipated that the Senators will have the numbers to field a team for Pride Bowl, and so all women players are highly encouraged to register for the Open Division teams.  A Women's team may later be selected for Gay Bowl at a separate registration midsummer.
