Ambassadors of Change (UAHS) 2021-2022
Ambassadors of Change is a student leadership group at UAHS. Our mission is to foster an inclusive community, where each student feels welcome and valued for who they are. Students who participate in Ambassadors of Change engage in learning experiences and receive the support training necessary to develop as student leaders.

We are looking for students, who are interested in issues of Diversity, Equity and Inclusion (or who are interested in learning about such issues) and want to make a positive difference in Upper Arlington Schools.

Our group meets once a week during the lunch period(s) or during a study hall period with faculty facilitators Ms. Fellinger and Mrs. Hughes.  Students learn strategies for:  expressing their voice, being an ally and being more inclusive. Students also engage in planning special school events or projects such as: Start with Hello Week, Black History Month, AAPI Heritage Month, hosting a storytelling event for staff and community members, virtual conversations with staff, an outreach programs to elementary and middle school students. Most of our projects are student-initiated and student-led. Our Ambassadors are seen as leaders in the UA community and are often invited to serve as student representatives on a number of committees or to participate in district Diversity, Equity and Inclusion activities

This is not a class, so students will not receive a grade for participating in this group. It is also not a club, because it takes place during the school day. However, we do expect students to commit to attending our meetings once a week. Of course, if you are ill or have a conflict because of academic obligations, we will understand. Participating in Ambassadors of Change is a great way to meet students outside of class, while developing your leadership skills.

We'd love to have you join us! Please indicate below if you are interested in joining Ambassadors of Change next school year.  Feel free to contact Ms. Fellinger (tfellinger@uaschools.org) or Mrs. Hughes (emhughes@uaschools.org) with any questions.
