The Music Lesson Subsidy Program usually does not accept spring semester only subsidy requests/applications. This Academic year, as a small amount of subsidy funding remains available, new applications to the program will be accepted.

The Application Deadline for the Music Lesson Subsidy program (MLSP) for spring semester 2021 is Thursday, January 14, 12 noon. Music Lesson Subsidies are available to fully enrolled undergraduates of Harvard College who are receiving some form of financial aid.

IF YOU RECEIVED A subsidy in the fall semester, you do not have to reapply, but you do need to complete a renewal form whose link was sent to subsidy recipients in December.  IF YOU ARE A Declared Music Concentrator (full/joint) beginning in the fall semester of the sophomore year, you can apply for a Subsidy (supported by the Music Department). Smaller subsidies for those students not on financial aid are available. Otherwise, the aid package and administration of the program is the same as the Music Lesson Subsidy Program awards.

IF YOU ARE A member of the Harvard Choruses and are an undergraduate at the College receiving financial aid, you are eligible to apply for funding through both the Music Lesson Subsidy and Holden Voice Program (HVP). Each program has a separate application process and form that must be completed. For information on the Holden Voice Program, visit: https://www.singatharvard.com/hvp.html Other students who do not meet the MLSP applicant guidelines should apply for funding via the Holden Voice Program only.

IF YOU ARE an active member of the Harvard Radcliffe Orchestra (HRO), private lesson funding is available through the HRO Instrument Study Fund. Funding through the HRO Instrument Study Fund was awarded out for this Academic year during the Fall semester. If you are receiving aid from the College you can still apply in the spring for a Music Lesson Subsidy. Please complete a Music Subsidy application. If you are a member of the HRO and not receiving aid, please contact Stephanie Troisi (troisi@fas.harvard.edu) for further information. The aid package and administration of the program is the same as the Music Lesson Subsidy Program awards.
