WHO:​ Anyone currently in grades 6-11 interested in learning drill team dance skills! We highly recommend attending if you plan to audition for your school’s 2024-25 drill team.

WHEN: February 27th and 29th from 4:30-6:30 pm

WHERE: Hays High School; Red Gym

PURPOSE: These drill team prep intensives offer any dancer and future and current drill team hopefuls an opportunity to develop and improve dance techniques and performance skills. Sessions will focus on proper stretching, turns and leaps, and high kick techniques. Both sessions are taught by current Hays Highstepper Officers and officer candidates. Participants are divided into small groups to rotate through each skill set.

COST: $25 per intensive ($50 for both days) ​– Payment due before intensive. Please pay in advance by credit card or on Venmo (@Hays-Highsteppers) with dancer name in comments or bring cash to registration.

WHAT TO WEAR & BRING: Form fitting dance attire (fitted tank top, jazz pants, yoga pants, tight/booty shorts) jazz shoes or half soles. Hair must be pulled back and out of the face. No jewelry or gum. Bring a water bottle.

CHECK IN​: Check in begins @ 4:15pm in the Red Gym. Intensives start promptly at 4:30pm. The Red Gym is located in the D-Building within the Athletic Department, next to the Burdine Theatre.
