Fall 2022 Faculty Center Book Group
Dr. Christine Draper, from the Office of Online Education and a Faculty Center Fellow, will facilitate this semester's Faculty Center Book Group.  Dr. Draper has selected, "Active Learning Online:  Five Principles that Make Online Courses Come Alive" by Stephen M. Kosslyn.

This reading will help in thinking about what we CAN do effectively in our online courses.  Five key principles from the science of learning will help to ensure that taught materials actually stick in student's minds and provides a wealth of specific active learning exercises that you can implement in your classes immediately.  Active Learning Online provides you with the tools to create your own active learning exercises that can be tailored to your specific interests and the subject matter of your class.

Books are available on a first-come, first-served basis. Your book can be delivered to your department, you can pick it up at the Faculty Center, or you may purchase the book on your own.

The Book Group will meet online once per month:

September 13
October 18
November 15

Time:  1:00pm

The facilitator will contact you with more information about your reading assignments and will provide you with a link to join the discussions.
