Process Change Exploration tool

How to predict the future model of your process?

Welcome to an experiment on our research for predicting future process models! If you are familiar with process mining, we would be happy to show you how future models of business processes can be predicted and ask for your valuable feedback. In the following, we will demonstrate to you our Process Change Exploration (PCE) tool and ask you some questions. The tool is based on ideas published in:

'Process Model Forecasting Using Time Series Analysis of Event Sequence Data' by J. De Smedt, A. Yeshchenko, A. Polyvyanyy, J. De Weerdt, and J. Mendling at the 2021 ER Conference.

The tool allows to visualize directly-follows graphs over selected time spans of the full time line of an event log, and supports the comparison of two time spans by visualizing the changes of the process model/DFG over time. So far, the technique has been evaluated on well-known event logs to gauge its predictive prowess. However, this questionnaire aims at studying the usefulness and ease of use of the PCE tool.

This research was conducted by KU Leuven in collaboration with WU Vienna, HU Berlin, and Uni Melbourne. If you are interested in more details or have any questions, please reach out to the corresponding author Johannes de Smedt at johannes.desmedt@kuleuven.be

By taking part, you can win one of three copies of the book "Business Process Management Cases Vol. 2". You simply have to leave your email address at the end of the questionnaire, such that we can contact you.

This questionnaire takes approximately 15-25 minutes.
