2020 Senior Public Speaking
The Senior Public Speaking competition has become a popular event in the DAV calendar. Senior students (years 11 and 12) will be given the opportunity to extend their existing public speaking skills by presenting one prepared speech (6-8 mins) and two impromptu speeches (4-5 mins). Students will receive high quality feedback from experienced adjudicators, as well as the opportunity to watch fellow speakers. Highest scoring students will be awarded at the end of the day. Schools may register two representatives each from years 11 and 12 (6 max per school).
Where: St Kevin's College, Moonga Road Toorak
When: Sunday 26th April, 9.30am - 3pm
Who: Students in years 11 and 12
Format: Students will present one prepared speech* (6-8 mins) and two impromptu speeches (4-5 mins)
*Students will present prepared speeches on a topics of their own choosing. his speech must be persuasive in nature. Impromptu speeches may also be persuasive, but this is not a requirement, so long as the speech has a clear message and form.
Winners will be announced on the day.
Cost: $40 per student, limit of 3 students per year level per school (a maximum of 6 in total).
