SARTopo is a widely-used, collaborative online and offline mapping tool for use in Search and Rescue. Topics covered will range from the ability to print maps for planning a training or at a mission, to assisting in base as a technician (example processing GPS tracks or recording clues), to using SARTopo for SAR planning and operations tasks, either on-scene or for remote support and using the CalTopo phone app to record tracks.. Hands-on exercise will develop mapping data to support a mock search and rescue mission from inception into the second-operational period.
Registration is required and limited to eighteen students.

Time: 9:00am - 5:00pm
Cost: $25, free to MARG members. If you paid for a class in 2020 and did not get a refund, there is no charge.
Location: Cheat Lake VFD, 409 Fairchance Rd, Morgantown, WV 26508, Day Room (lower level, park in the back)
Host: Mountaineer Area Rescue Group
Each student will need a laptop (not a tablet). If you don't have one you can bring, limited loaners are available. No special software requirements except a browser, Chrome is the preferred browser. A mouse is recommended.
Students should have some basic computer skills, including use of web browser, mouse or touchpad, File Explorer (Windows) or Finder (Mac)
