An Evening with John McCrea (Friday 12th February 2021)
Welcome to an evening of creativity, memories, advice, tears, laughter and Dredd! Master comics writer/artist John McCrea presents a charity livestream in which, over the course of a couple of hours, he will be putting pencil and ink to paper for a JUDGE DREDD live draw, all while talking about his career, his process and favourite memories with some very special guests!

JOHN MCCREA is the celebrated creator and artist of comics such as HITMAN, THE MONARCHY, JENNY SPARKS: THE SECRET HISTORY OF THE AUTHORITY, THE BOYS: HEROGASM and DEAD EYES, as well as the illustrator of Garth Ennis' debut work, TROUBLED SOULS, appearing in the pages of the anthology series, CRISIS. It's this period of John's career that the stream will be focusing on, as he will be joined by fellow comics legends in rare online appearances, Steve MacManus and Garth Ennis himself!

This livestream is being held to raise funds for The Cartoon Museum, the country's premier curator of UK and international comic art, which aims to conserve and cherish the art form while encouraging fans young and old, to celebrate amazing comics. The Cartoon Museum has been hit particularly hard by the lockdowns imposed during the Coronavirus global pandemic, shuttering its doors - like many museums across the UK - since the crisis began.

The session will be hosted in association with Leonard Sultana (An Englishman In San Diego/The Convention Collective) and will begin with an introduction from Steve Marchant of the Cartoon Museum to talk about their work and what they have been doing to keep afloat during lockdown - John hopes to raise as much money as possible to support this incredible organisation with this unique livestream which will also culminate in an auction of the finished JUDGE DREDD piece, along with perhaps some other bits and bobs he and Leonard may find lying around the studio!

The session will be livestreamed for those putting in a charitable donation of a minimum of £5 (more is encouraged, of course!) with the session being made publicly available to watch at a later date. But don't forget, only those watching will be able to take part in the auction at the end of the session!

*** APPLICATIONS AND DONATIONS FOR PARTICIPATING IN THE LIVESTREAM WILL CLOSE 12pm MIDDAY ON WEDNESDAY 10TH FEBRUARY WITH LINKS TO THE SESSION BEING MAILED OUT ON THURSDAY 11TH FEBRUARY - THE SESSION WILL BE LIVE FROM 6PM, FRIDAY 12TH FEBRUARY AND WILL LAST APPROX 90MINS... BUT WHO KNOWS, MAY GO ON A LOT LONGER, DEPENDING ON HOW THE WIND TAKES US! ***
