Ottawa Hills 'Sled Hill' Restoration Public Input

The Village owned parcel on Brookside Rd, east of Talmage, is getting an ecological uplift this year and we want your contribution.  The goal of this project is to restore floodplain habitat so that it may better filter runoff from the adjacent residential property before reaching the Ottawa River.  This will be done by constructing shallow depressions in the landscape that will capture runoff from two drainage ditches and replanting the site with 5,000 native trees. Passive recreation space and trails will be incorporated into the design, creating opportunities for people to enjoy time outdoors.  To learn more and review the 30% design concept, please visit https://www.oakopenings.org/news/village-of-ottawa-hills-natural-infrastructure-restoration/
