Every year the school holds a Walkathon at the beginning of Term 4.  

The purpose of the Walkathon is to promote health and well-being by walking 5 kms and at the same time raise money for the school.  

This year, the Walkathon will be held during school time on Friday, 3 November. 

We are fundraising to upgrade the junior sandpit and enhance our outdoor gardens and natural environment.

After the success last year, we are continuing with the online fundraising option through Give-a -Little.

1) Right now, encourage and support your child to gain sponsorship or donations from family, friends
and acquaintances. (Please do not let your child seek sponsorship from people whom they do not
know.)  Sponsorship is extremely easy as it is fully online with Give-a-Little.

2) Simply go to the https://givealittle.co.nz/l/walkathon-2023

3) Find the class page for the student being sponsored

4) Click 'Donate'

5) Click on the correct student name from the drop-down box to assign your donation to them (only
first names and initials of surnames are displayed)

6) Share the event page with family and friends far and wide letting them know your child’s class
and name.

7) Help your child prepare for the walk by going on family walks with them.

8) Relax - no need to collect sponsorship as it will all come to the PTA via Give-a-Little.

Besides encouraging your child to gather sponsorship money, take family walks to help develop general
fitness, you could also volunteer to come on the walk with your child’s class on the day of the walkathon.

Juniors – depart 11.00am and return 12.30pm

Harcourts have generously offered to sponsor the walkathon again and will be handing out ice blocks
after the walk.

All students who raise over $50 will go into the draw to win an iPad. Other prizes will also be on offer.
