Description: Developing strong emotion validation skills can foster increased confidence and effectiveness in working with students and colleagues, especially in high intensity situations. Drawing from the latest research, this talk will review the positive effects of validation and negative consequences of invalidation. Participants will learn strategies from Dialectical Behavior Therapy interventions to validate others and themselves more effectively in the service of fostering improved communication skills and emotion regulation in difficult moments.
