Wentzville School District and St. Charles Community College MegaTech Department Partnership Program
Your student has expressed interest in enrolling in the Wentzville School District and the St. Charles Community College MegaTech Department Partnership for the 23-24 school year. MegaTech is a two semester/year long course. This is a WSD Tuition, PPE (Personal Protective Equipment) and books included paid program, free to students. Because of this there are limited seats available.
Successful students will have the opportunity to earn high school credit, college credit & industry-recognized credentials:
•OSHA-10 Card
•MSSC (Manufacturing Skill Standards Council)- Safety
•National Career Readiness Certificate (NCRC)
•NC3 Precision Measurement
We will base transfer grades on SCC's GPA Scale, the SEMESTER GPA at SCC:
3.5-4.0- A
3.0-3.499- B
2.0-2.99- C
The following are requirements and commitments you and your student would be making as participants of this program. (Open to juniors and seniors.)
-Students will enroll in a two semester/year long program M-F 11:30am-2:30pm daily at the MegaTech Program, located next door to Pearce Hall.
-Students will be required to complete WorkKeys testing and must score at a least a 3 or bronze on the exam to participate in the course. Will test in Workplace Documents, Graphic Literacy, and Applied Mathematics at SCC.
-Be able to provide own transportation to and from the MegaTech Program at 209 W. Pearce Blvd. Wentzville, MO 63385
-Students will earn 1.5 high school credits per semester for the MegaTech Program.
-Students MUST maintain a 95% attendance rate throughout the course; if a student's attendance falls far enough below a 95% attendance rate that a student cannot average 95% attendance, the student will be removed from the program.
-Students will be expected to exhibit professional behavior at all times; failure to do so may result in removal from the program.
-Professional standards include wearing appropriate attire, avoiding phone use during class, using respectful communication with staff and classmates, and demonstrating teamwork.
-Students will need to complete 3-5 hours of out of class work per week.
-Students who are removed from the program due to behavior or attendance will be subject to WSD procedures for schedule changes and dropped classes, which may include receiving a failing grade for the MegaTech Program on the student's final transcript.
