This five-session series will equip you with the tools to take your academic writing style to the next level.
You will learn how to:
- clarify your meaning in complex sentences ("Clear It Up," Part 1)
- cut down your word count so that every word matters ("Trim It Down" Part 2), Thu, Jan 11th, 12-1pm
- enhance the conhesion and coherence of your sentences and paragraphs ("Help It Flow," Part 3), Fri, Jan 12th, 12-1pm
- add "good words" to increase clarity and thick description ("Word It Well," Part 4)
- explore rhetorical devices and have fun with punctuation ("Make It Shine," Part 5).
This interactive workshop series will offer diverse and creative methods for styling writing. We will engage with examples from academic, technical, and creative writing to get us thinking about the context of "good style.”
