Young, Not Silent is seeking workshop proposals.
Summit Theme: Let's Talk About It!
Young, Not Silent 2023
Saturday, November 11, 11am - 6pm
Xavier University Cintas Center
Young, Not Silent is planned by youth, for youth. Each year, young people design the summit to be a place to discuss topics that are on their minds. We are seeking presenters who can engage young people in purposeful workshops on topics they want to explore such as: mental health, healthy relationships/consent, financial literacy/entrepreneurship, environment/climate change, identity (race, LGBTQ+, etc.), violence, drugs/peer pressure, leadership, and navigating their futures. Visit www.youngnotsilent.org for more details.
All workshops should actively engage young people in grades 7 - 12 and connect to one of the 4 BE's below:
BE a Leader: Workshops should help participants identify their leadership style and grow their confidence in order to be a positive influence among their peers.
BE Aware: Workshops that explore aspects of diversity and inclusion and/or encourage young people to step outside of their comfort zone.
BE The Change: Workshops that help young people engage in activism. Workshops should provide practical ways for young people to be more assertive and how to have their voice heard.
BE Your Best Self: Workshops that promote physical and mental health and/or provide pathways for students to advance their future goals.
Workshop Deadline: Sunday, October 29
