Growing Roots: A Life Skills Group 

At Growing Roots, our heartfelt mission is to bring joy and limitless possibilities to individuals with disabilities. Through our program, we open doors to a world of community integrative experiences, kindling their spirits with the power of growth, learning, and boundless potential. 

Here at The Speech Tree, we have quickly recognized the lack of multi-functional resources available in the community for individuals with disabilities. Three of our very own, Hayley Melinek MS, CCC-SLP and Mikayla Schultz ABA Therapist and current graduate student for clinical mental health counseling, share a vision to provide resources that help your child flourish in various assets of life including emotional, social, and functional development. 

Below is a brief outline of three groups offered for our Summer 2024 program. 

Group 1: Community Socialization & Integration 
An opportunity for individuals to come together with their peers and interact with various members of the community.

Group 2: Pre-Vocational Skills 
An opportunity for individuals to expand upon their community interactions in a more job-centric way.

Group 3: Practical Skills 
An opportunity for individuals to combine all previous skillsets from groups 1 and 2 to prepare for future job and volunteer endeavors. 

      Important Information to note
  • Classroom location: Monroe, NJ 
  • Transportation is not provided to Monroe location nor to field trips outside of the classroom
  • All groups will run on a 5 week basis, 1 time a week 
  • Self private pay
