MY Climbing Series is a fun event organised by parents and the walls of the Midlands for young climbers. See www.myclimbingseries.co.uk for current age categories. Only those in categories Junior, Youth A, B and C will lead their routes. The series has been designed to allow young climbers to compete and gain experience of competition climbing.

Payment is made directly to the wall on the day of the competition. Pre-registration may be possible – see individual event details on the website for further information about start times

Each wall has its own policies and requirements for the completion of membership forms that need to completed to enable climbers to take part in the round at the venue. If these forms are available online, they will be published on the website and the social media pages prior to each round.

Photography will take place at the event with pictures and videos being used in promotional material for MYCS – if you do not wish you child to have their photograph taken, please make this clear to photographer who is a member of MYCS and make it clear on the consent form.

Parents and young participants should be aware that climbing, hill walking and mountaineering are activities with a danger of personal injury or death. Parents and participants in these activities should be aware of and accept these risks and be responsible for their own actions and involvement. The BMC publishes a wide range of publicity and good practice advice and provides training opportunities for its members.

A parent, or an adult that a parent has arranged to be responsible for their child, must remain at the event to supervise all children aged under 14. Young people aged 14 or over may be able to climb unsupervised dependent upon each wall’s individual policies and subject to the appropriate forms being completed.
