The Summer 2024 Writing Accountability Group aims to equip faculty with the tools required for the development and submission of competitive extramural grant proposals. Participants will be provided with resources for research/program development and idea refinement, editorial and writing support, grantspersonship, and subject matter-specific expert mentoring for the timely submission of high-quality extramural grant proposals. Faculty selected to participate will receive a $1000 stipend (faculty training and professional development stipend) upon completion of the program which includes attending the Kick-off Workshops (~10 hours across two days), two one-on-one consultations to support grant development (2 hours), and listening to assigned webinars (3 hours), and submission of a draft of their proposal (due August 16, 2024).
Deliverable: WAG participants will submit a grant proposal draft in Cayuse (with assistance from ORSP staff) to be finalized and submitted to an external granting agency in AY 2024-25.
Timeline: The program will launch with the kick-off workshops on June 4-5, 2024. Participants will commit to scheduling and attending one-on-one sessions with ORSP staff/mentors, 3 cohort meetings (TBD scheduled in July) and submit their completed writing product at the end of the term.
Eligibility: Due to budgetary constraints participation is limited to full-time tenure track/tenured faculty, and not those participating in the Faculty Early Retirement Program at time of payment. Additionally, those working in Extension/Continuing Education are not eligible for participation.
