61st Annual USS Thresher Memorial Service RSVP Form
Join with USS Thresher Family & Former Crew, Active Duty & Veteran Submariners, current & former NAVSEA command staff, management, employees & contractors, US Senators & US Representatives on April 13, 2024 to honor the memories and SUBSAFE legacy of the 129 men lost aboard USS Thresher (SSN-593) on April 10, 1963.

Please RSVP via this form by March 10, 2024. For USS Thresher Family & Former Crew members, your RSVP will be used to create nametags and to order the correct number of roses.

This form provides the option to register to attend the 61st virtually. The live YouTube broadcast option is provided in support of the Thresher Family and Former Crew who are unable to attend due to health issues as well as those located beyond commuting distance. This year's broadcast is funded from two sources, the Portsmouth Elks Lodge #97 and St. Johns Lodge #1 Portsmouth Freemasons.

Continued support for the SUBSAFE program, the legacy of the men lost aboard USS Thresher, is significantly strengthened by in-person attendance. Your interaction before and after the memorial service helps to facilitate lasting bonds between those impacted by this tragedy with those who advocate for, fund, operate, maintain, overhaul, build and test our Nations Submarines.

The memorial service will begin at 1300 at Robert W. Traip Academy, 12 Williams Avenue in Kittery, Maine.

We have included a question asking if you would attend a post wreath laying ceremony reception in the foyer. If we receive enough interest, we will hold a reception featuring soda, tea, water, cookies, etc. The purpose of the reception will be to facilitate in-person interaction between Thresher family/former crew and those who operate, overhaul, build, test and ensure quality control for our Nation's submarines.

If you have questions regarding this form, the RSVP process, or the 61st Annual USS Thresher Memorial Service please email Planning Committee Chairman Kevin Galeaz at thresherbase@gmail.com.
