Overview:
Connecting Colorado, entering its third year, has established itself as a premier one-day gathering for nonprofit leaders and those supporting the sector. The event has garnered tremendous success in its first two years, fostering collaboration, sharing valuable insights, and addressing critical challenges faced by the nonprofit sector.
We are seeking engaging, relevant and informative sessions that will provide our attendees with knowledge, action items and an overall engaging experience. Prioritizing diversity in speakers, topics, and perspectives is crucial as we construct a comprehensive and informative agenda.
Session Details:
In 2024, Connecting Colorado will host 4 stops around the state, including Northern Colorado, Southern Colorado, The Western Slope and the Denver Metro area. Connecting Colorado will feature sessions focused on relevant topics for our nonprofit partners. The 1 hour and 15-minute sessions will cover the following areas:
Board Governance
Fundraising
Information Technology
D.E.A.I. (Diversity, Equity, Accessibility, and Inclusion)
Human Resources and Organizational Culture
Evaluation
Advocacy
Strategic Planning
Communications
*Other dynamic topics will be considered (and are encouraged) if they meet the needs of the nonprofit professional and leader.
We will also have a specialized "track" for nonprofit CEO’s and Executive Directors that will focus on high level sessions geared towards this audience. If you feel you have a session that will support this audience please indicate it in your proposal.
Compensation:
We are a nonprofit organization committed to providing resources to nonprofit organizations throughout the state of Colorado that are valuable and accessible. We deeply appreciate your potential involvement in Connecting Colorado and recognize the importance of your time. We can offer a modest honorarium, however, if you have a specific fee for your presentation, please specify within your proposal, and we will strive to accommodate it upon selection. Alternatively, we value your generosity in considering the donation of your time to support the Colorado Nonprofit Association in our efforts to ensure the accessibility of this event.
Proposal Submission Guidelines:
Interested speakers are invited to submit proposals directly to Nbroeckert@coloradononprofits.org . Proposals should include:
Title and brief description of the proposed session.
Speaker's bio, emphasizing relevant nonprofit sector experience.
Indication if the session is tailored for nonprofit CEO’s and Executive Directors.
Outline of key learning objectives and takeaways.
Details on interactive elements or audience engagement strategies.
Optional: Include a link to a video showcasing past facilitation (not required but encouraged)- Please send video to Nbroeckert@coloradononprofits.org
Selection Criteria:
Proposals will be evaluated by our Connecting Colorado Advisory Committee, which will be composed of nonprofit leaders who serve both Northern Colorado and the State of Colorado. The selection committee will evaluate proposals based on:
Relevance to specified topics and target audience.
Clarity and specificity of the proposed session.
Speaker's expertise in the nonprofit sector.
Potential for audience engagement.
Feasibility within the allocated time.
Special consideration will be given to speakers who are current, or former, nonprofit executives or leaders.
