Welcome to the second annual #ShineALight Autistic Advocate Campaign.  Last year we had over 21 Autistic Advocates from a variety of advocacy areas including bullying, self care, burnout, accessibility, autistic community, film, social media and more!

Deadline to sign up for live panel topics is Friday, March 17th Deadline for all other areas is March 24th

Last year's topic was: Insights and Tips for the Next Group and Generation of Autistic Self Advocates

This year's topic is:
Accessibility

We will be discussing and sharing on the areas of accessibility including:

Education
Healthcare
Workplace
Public Spaces
Transportation
Diagnosis
Intersectional and minority issues in accessibility

There are several ways to participate:
1. Become a panelist on a live conversation (You can also be part of a panel by sending in a pre-recorded video clip answering the conversation topic questions or written contribution that can be read by the panel host) Panel dates and times will be announced by March 18th.

2. Write a short 2-3 paragraph article for The Brain Dump Blog on Mind Your Autistic Brain

3. You can choose BOTH panel and article or

4.  If you have something else that you feel is most comfortable for you please let me know.  I am open to any of the ways that work best for you so that you can share your work, who you are and your passion in the world without barriers.

5. Art work is also a great way to express and share what Accessibility means to you.

Please complete the form to be added to the list of this year's autistic advocate participants for the #ShineALight Campaign.  This is my way of stepping into our empowered voices in April.  When you submit your application you will also be entered into the second annual #ShineALight Autistic Advocate Award for Service to Others in our Community.

Brian Bird of Autism Support Community was the 2022 winner of the #ShineALight Service to Others Award.

I can't wait to share your insights, tips, and advocacy challenges when it comes to accessibility.  Thank you for adding your voice/writing/art and ideas to our story and experience in the world.  We are not alone.  Together we are empowered, seen, heard and understood in ways that aren't always possible on our own.

All my heart, joy and love,
