New School Choice Student                      Application  2023-2024
The Granby Public Schools are currently accepting school choice applications for anticipated openings in grades: 1, 2, 4, 6, 7, 8, 9, 10, 11, and 12 for the 2023-24 school year.

The final determination as to how many seats will be available, if any, at each grade level will be made in late May/early June. This will allow the Granby Public Schools to have a more accurate count of resident students expected to attend school in 2023-24. Families interested in pursuing school choice are encouraged to apply now, but final decisions will not be made until late June. If the number of applicants exceeds the number of spaces available at any grade level a lottery will be held. Siblings do receive preference over families that do not currently have a student enrolled in the Granby Public Schools. Should the number of sibling applicants for a specific grade level exceed the number of seats available, this too would mean the final decision would be made via a lottery. All students accepted into the Granby Public Schools as a school choice student would be notified in late June. At that time we will reassess our enrollment and unfilled seats will remain open, and we will hold another lottery in August should the number of applicants exceed the number of available seats.

If you are interested in having your student become a Granby Public School student, please use the form below to submit your application for enrollment in the Granby Public School System for the 2023/2024 school year.  Please be aware that parents/guardians are responsible for transporting their child (ren) to and from school.

If your student has been accepted, a letter will be sent in late June notifying families of their student(s) acceptance. Upon notification that your child has been chosen, please contact either East Meadow or Granby Junior Senior High School to schedule an appointment with the front office to complete your students enrollment packet and release of records. The school will be requesting the following official copies: MEDICAL, SCHOOL (Academic and Discipline), and SPECIAL EDUCATION RECORDS (most current I.E.P. or a letter stating that there are no special needs). We must receive all of the above paperwork for your child to be considered enrolled in the Granby Public Schools.

Thank you.

Sincerely yours,

Stephen Sullivan Superintendent
Granby Public Schools
