Join us for the Moose Meeting, a family-friendly event aimed at raising awareness about the importance of moose conservation. This exciting gathering will take place on July 15th from 10am to 2pm at the scenic Deanery in Eastern Shore.
To attend this engaging event, registration is required. Don't miss out on this opportunity to learn and contribute to moose conservation efforts!
The morning will kick off with a captivating presentation on mainland moose. Kids are encouraged to join in on the fun by participating in our mainland moose art project. They will have the chance to draw these magnificent creatures and write short letters to politicians, emphasizing the significance of preserving the moose population.
Meanwhile, adults will have the opportunity to fill out a survey on mainland moose or engage in a round table discussion. Topics will revolve around forestry practices, protected areas, and moose sightings, all contributing to an ongoing research project.
After a quick lunch, we will venture out to the Deanery's expansive property. Here, participants will learn how to identify moose tracks, pellets, and other signs. We will provide guidance on capturing high-quality photographs and reporting these findings to aid DNR in the accurate tracking of moose populations.
The walk will be moderately difficult and all participation is optional!
