Leal Elementary Arts Program (LEAP) Volunteer Form 2023-2024
Do you want your child to succeed in school? BE A PART OF LEAP! Studies show that parent involvement contributes to a greater academic performance. Leap believes that a great arts education is the foundation for great academic and life success. LEAP runs the After-school and Summer Programs, Diwali Festival, International Festival, Lunar Festival, Spring Musical, Art Pop classes, various arts projects around campus and funds our Performing and Visual Arts programs. Ideally it is preferable to have two people for each of the positions. You will also have the opportunity to 'shadow' (working along side by side) the appointments as to get a better understanding of the role.  If you choose to nominate someone besides your self please be sure to get approval from them before filling out the form.

President:
Creates agenda and presides over meetings, should have knowledge of all programs and events that are run during the school year. Sets up Calendar for upcoming School year. Coordinates with committees and board members to ensure goals of the mission statement are followed. Ideally has a good understanding of the day to day operations and has knowledge of the afterschool and summer programs. Previous year experience on the board.

Vice President

Supportive of Presidents tasks, will preside over meetings when the president is unavailable. Also is knowledgeable in Leap events and afterschool/ Summer program.

Treasurer:
Provides payment to vendors and contractors. Collects documents for accountant, provides general financial information. Keeps detailed financial records with QuickBooks. Pulls reports from wild apricot, provides refunds to parents. Knowledgeable of payroll and gusto, after school/ Summer program procedures.
Secretary

Supports the President and Vice President maintains files, update meeting notes, sends out reminders to Leap Members. Keeps emails in order.

Officers/Committees: (preferably two or more persons for each position)
After-school/Summer Program: Set class schedules and make flyers. Great opportunity to meet and work with the teachers.

Membership Committee: Creates incentives for membership and create flyers distributed. Possibly create quarterly newsletter.

Tech/Social Media Committee: Maintains website and update information via social Media

Finance & Operations Committee: Oversees finances, maintains budget, prepare financial reports, coordinates Amazon account

Spring/Fall Musical Committee: Helps with props, costumes, backstage, flyers, tickets and supporting the events. Fall Musical -Sept-December. Spring Musical- December- March/ April

Diwali Committee: Contacts parent groups, distributes flyer, helps creates program- Sept-Nov

Lunar New Year Committee: Contacts parent groups, distributes flyer, creates program- Dec-Feb

International Festival Committee: Contacts parent groups, distributes flyer, creates program-Feb-May

Volunteer at Large: Helps with events such as Diwali night, Lunar festival, International Festival as well as other events
