Feathers Galore Bird Rescue

When you foster, you agree to take a rescued/surrendered bird into your home and give him/her love, care, and attention. This can be for either for a predetermined period of time or until the bird is adopted out to their forever home.

Purchases made for foster care are considered donations to a 501c3 non-profit and would be tax-deductible.

We have plans in place for managing crisis, notification prior to treatment, and the preferred veterinarian. We will discuss and have a plan in place for how to handle medical emergencies that occur while you are fostering. Always check with our staff before making any appointment for the bird. The rescue will cover medical costs for our foster birds with prior approval. Any actions taken without prior approval will be the responsibility of the foster parent.

The rescue will handle medical expenses (with prior approval) and will provide some food/toys. You may need to provide additional food/toys depending on the length of stay. All purchases are tax deductible.

If you foster a bird for us, you must live within 30 minutes of the rescue. The birds must be made available upon request by the rescue. You may be asked to bring the bird to the rescue, vet, etc. as needed during the adoption process. Open and regular communication with the rescue is needed. We will keep traveling to a minimum, but it will likely be required.

This bird will reside in my home as a foster.

I will provide it with quality food, plenty of fresh water, shelter, affection, and veterinarian care (as needed) under the supervision of Feathers Galore.

Feathers Galore may make home visits to ensure all expectations for health and safety are being executed properly.

If for any reason I am unable to care for the bird(s) any longer, I will return the bird to Feathers Galore immediately.

I understand that this bird is a foster and remains the property of Feathers Galore while in my care.

I understand I will need to work with Feathers Galore to coordinate veterinary visits and to allow potential adopters visitation. Visitations may be completed in my home or at the rescue.

If I choose to adopt the bird, I will file an application and meet all adoption requirements per Feathers Galore requirements.
