We are an award-winning online publication dedicated to telling Florida's deeper story. We invite your pitches!

Before you pitch, take some time to read our stories and familiarize yourself with our mission. We accept pitches that focus on the following topics: Florida, Florida’s environment, environmental and social justice, climate change, conservation, Florida history and culture, sustainability and innovation. We are particularly interested in first-person essays about human experiences with Florida’s changing environment for our Dispatches from a Sinking State series. For reporting pitches, we value stories that interview sources from a variety of diverse perspectives.

While we try to be open and accommodating to our contributors, we cannot guarantee that your story will be published. Once you have submitted your pitch, one of our editors will be in touch to discuss next steps.

We also want you to tell us why this story matters, why it’s relevant now and why you are a good person to tell it.
