X. Course Calendar
This calendar may be adjusted by administration or Profesora Heglar. Changes will be announced in class &/or posted electronically.
Throughout the semester, students will write & illustrate aย
children's storybook in Spanish worth
three test grades.ย This book will serve as a review for the semester. Each page will represent a unit; it must have a paragraph (in Spanish) that uses the unit's vocabulary, grammar, & culture along with a picture. Students may use paper or make it online/digital with PowerPoint, Google Slides, or websites like
Canva,
BookBildr, or
StoryBook. It is the studentโs creativity that decides how to do this (ex.: writing it as a diary, creating multiple chapters, having a character daydream, time travel, or multiple short stories) The last week of the semester, students will read their book in front of the class. The semester-long, language proficiency level rubric will be used to grade the studentsโ Spanish language mastery in the book.
Students are expected to write their unit entry as we complete each unit throughout the semester. Class time will
not be allotted to this project, but reminders will be given in class &/or electronically.
