Foster families are an integral part of the W.A.G.S. 4 Kids program. It is through the dedication of its volunteers that W.A.G.S. 4 Kids is able to prepare these special animals for the work they will do.

Homes are needed for periods of anywhere from two to six to twelve weeks in duration.  While most SDIT's are placed in foster homes at twelve (12) to twenty-two (22) months old, we are looking for foster families to take in service dogs of all ages for the purposes of socialization. All families & family members must agree to learn and abide by all WAGS 4 Kids training protocols & standards. Our goal is to provide patterned, specific experiences with each dog in training to prepare, test, and transition his or her ability to be of service to a child in real life environments and situations.

WAGS will provide all supplies and medical needs. Foster families will be asked/required to see to the general well being of the dog including following all dietary guidelines as prescribed and administering monthly flea, tick and heartworm medications as allocated in addition to training/playing/cuddling. :-)
