The new 4 Seasons weekend is coming on March 8th-10th and we are looking to complete the judge staff. Priority will be given to judges with knowledge of IPG and of Eternal formats. Any English speaking judge is welcome and additional priority will be given to judges with proficiency in other European languages.
We are expecting up to 600 players per day. The Head Judges for the weekend will be: Fabio Pierucci, Luca Chiassoni, Renato Spinelli, Sandro Manfredini and TBA. The Stage Leader will be: Michele Vianello.
4 Seasons promotes events characterized by relaxed play, great socializing but also large prizes. We want to guarantee our players with the greatest fun and the greatest fairness. The focus of the judge staff will be customer service (people first!) and maintaining the event integrity.
In order to be on staff you'll need a comprehensive and updated knowledge of the main documents:
Comprehensive Rules (CR),
Infraction Procedure Guide (IPG) and
Magic Tournament Rules (MTR). You will also need the ability and availability to answer to players' questions, to join the tournament operations (i.e. deck checks, slips distributions, EOR procedures, ...) and to support other judges whenever needed.
You may apply for a staff position and/or volunteer position and/or standby position.
The staff judge is a certified judge already autonomous on the floor, capable of completing the assigned tasks and of supporting less experienced judges. You will judge on a daily shift: Friday from 12:00 until 20:00 (approx.); Saturday and Sunday from 9:00 until 20:00 (approx.) or from 11:00 until 22:00 (approx.).
---> You will receive a daily reimbursement of 100 euro plus breakfast, lunch and afternoon snack. You will receive breaks for 90 minutes total during your shift. If staffed for 2+ days, you will also have a bed in the staff hotel (double or triple room with separate beds in a 4 stars hotel 5-10 minutes by car from the venue) for the night(s) between the days in staff. If you have different time restrictions, please let us know in your cover letter.
The volunteer judge is a certified judge that wants to increase their experience with tournament operations and wants to put their studies into practice. We believe that it's extremely important to train the new generations of judges and we want to invest in their growth so that they may become autonomous on the floor of a large international event. The volunteer will be supported by expert judges and may decide to join the staff for how much time as they desire with no time restrictions.

The standby judge is a certified judge who prefers to play the event but is also available to judge in case of an unexpected surge of player registrations in the last days before the event. If activated, the standby judge will be considered as a staff judge. If not activated, the standby judge may play any event for free during the day.
We have a limited quantity of travel sponsorships of up to 100 euro per sponsored judge. If you would like or if you need a travel sponsorship for judging this event, please fill the appropriate question in the application form.
The dress code for all judges includes the official 4 Seasons yellow polo (if you don't have one already, we'll provide one for you), black pants or skirt (long or short as you prefer) and black shoes.
