This Sunday concludes our 8-week “What is a Disciple?” worship series, designed to orient us towards the vision of Jesus’s life and ministry, as disciples following Jesus through our new Discipleship Pathway. The series was grounded in the Good News of God’s grace given to us in baptism (week 1), which continues to perfect us as we grow to become more like Jesus. Together, we explored 7 characteristics of what it means to be a follower of Jesus.
Each week, we invited you to use a portion of the Disciple Growth Guide to identify where you are in one characteristic of discipleship. We encouraged you to 1) reflect on your spiritual journey, 2) name and give thanks for the ways God has already grown you in that characteristic, and 3) ask God to reveal a Next Step in growth you’re called to take.
Today, we are eager to hear what you have discerned. Your offering of your reflections, celebrations, and desires for growth will glorify God, and will help us to offer ministry opportunities that will support your growth. Ultimately, our growth as disciples increases our participation in the Kingdom of God being revealed on earth.
Please take some time to review the Disciple Growth Guide in its entirety, found on the GROW page of our website (
www.foresthillsumc.org/grow), even if you haven't been a part of all 8 weeks of the series. Then, use this form as an offering of yourself to God. You may complete and submit it now, or may wait until after Sunday’s worship service to offer your reflections.
