Trans Day of Remembrance 2024 Speaker/Performer Interest form 
Please fill in this form by Wednesday 6th November 9am if you are interested in speaking and/or performing at Brighton & Hove Trans Day of Remembrance (TDoR) 2024. We will confirm speakers’ invitations by Thursday 7th November 5pm.

Date: Sunday 17th November 
Time: The event runs from 11:30am-2:00pm (attendance of speakers approx 11:45-12:30)
Location: Fabrica (Duke Street, Brighton, BN1 1AG) & Zoom live stream (registered attendees only)
Fee: £60 BACS payment or Gift Voucher

Please note as a course of Positive Action and following feedback from previous years' events we actively encourage speakers from the following trans, non-binary and/or intersex under-represented communities. We will aim to prioritise representation from across these groups:

 - Black, Indigenous & People of Colour (BIPoC)
- Sex workers
- People who have been incarcerated (e.g. in prison or psychiatric wards)
- People from Palestine or other occupied territories 
- Gypsy, Roma & Traveller community
- People with disabilities 
- People aged 50+

Commitment we ask for:
- To prepare a speech, poem, or short performance 3-5 minutes long that is suitable for microphone/speaker use and for an all-age audience of approximately 125-150 attendees. 
- Speakers/performers to sign in for allocated time slot with Compere 11:45am, speakers run 12-12:30pm. 
- Provide a summary and/or script of your speech/performance for our British Sign Language (BSL) interpreter as soon as it is ready, and by 5pm on Thursday 14th at the latest.

What Support & Reimbursement is offered
- All speakers/performers are paid an Honorarium of £60 via online payment or retail Gift voucher within 10 working days. 
- Transport costs up to £10pp can be reimbursed within 10 working days. 
- There is basic technology support on the day, including microphone set up and audio for audio-described recordings/back tracks. 
- There will be volunteers present for debriefing / support on the day. 
- Refreshments available for all guests.
- The venue has two accessible all-gender toilets

Who is organising this event? This is a grassroots event organised collaboratively by some of Brighton & Hove trans/TNBI groups (The Clare Project, Trans Pride Brighton & Hove, Trans Sober, Navigate) and support from allied LGBT organisations/networks. Data inputted is held by The Clare Project only, as is financial accountability to cover costs.
