Become a Resource Friend- help other local host families by donating, driving, or meals

Advocate- Talk to your church about becoming a Safe Families Church.

Become a Family Friend- Simply be a friend to a parent in crisis and help them meet their goals. Depending on the situation, this role can be that of a mentor, a supportive listener, or a parent advocate. Family Friends can also help a parent with temporary childcare and support others on their ministry team. The approval process includes: application, background check, 3 references, and 3 hour training.

Become a Host Family- Host children in your home for temporary times, and, often, you can connect with the parents as you support their journey. Hostings are commonly 30-60 days, but can be as short as a weekend. You can also volunteer as a family friend or support others on your ministry team. The approval process includes: application, background check, 3 references, 4 hr training, and home study.

Become a Family Coach- Helps parents set and achieve goals, encourages them, and directs them toward resources. They also visit host families and hosted children regularly for home visits. Meets monthly with staff and makes notes in our online database. The approval process includes: application, background check, 3 references, 8 hr training, and an interview with the Family Coach Supervisor
